Glass Bending
Plenty of people can cut glass. Bend it? That’s a different story. We bend glass for lamp panels (sometimes called slag glass lamp panels), window sash, china cabinet doors, display cases, clock faces, picture frames and so on.
The most unusual bending project we’ve ever done was a skylight for a now-demolished restaurant that once stood at State and Elm streets on Chicago’s Near North Side. The skylight, a racetrack oval 16 feet long and 6 feet wide, was built from dozens of bent glass and bent leaded art glass panels set into an iron framework. It’s probably in a million pieces now.
We don’t offer bent tempered glass, but will gladly provide a referral for it, or for a project too large for any of our kilns.
